Each spring, I find myself listening before I’m looking.

Before the trees fully bloom and before the air turns warm, the birds arrive first, soft morning chirps that feel like a promise. A reminder that light is returning. That color is waking up again.

This Bird Series was inspired by that exact moment. The first signs of life re-emerging after winter. I wanted each mini to capture that feeling of movement, warmth, and renewal. The layered brushstrokes, the saturated color, the expressive posture of each bird. They’re all little celebrations of aliveness.

Birds have always felt symbolic to me. They represent hope, transition, and new beginnings. In these pieces, they perch gently within bold, joyful color. Small but powerful reminders that even the lightest song can shift the entire atmosphere of a space.

These minis may be small in scale, but they carry the full energy of spring.
